Nope, not a lot going on except with the weather. We had a whole week of fantastic sunshine and marvellous temperatures - until the weekend, of course. The wind this morning made me wonder why I hadn't remembered to put on a hat. Although we had a bit of rain during the night, I don't think, or hope, it will be enough to stop us from paying a visit to our old park. I'd especially like to go see the peacocks and ducks that have been brought back to the park. They had been taken out as a precaution against bird flu. Now with the outbreak in Mexico of swine flu, they may be taken out again. I've just seen that a school in NYC is being closed because of an outbreak.
What's new in the way of the seemingly impossible quest for an administrator to look after our accounts and other needs? Well, on Monday the president decided that she wanted to contract the administrator that I'd recommended for the job and the one that had originally been told he had the job. Of course, who has to send out the message? So I sent a text message with the request. I also sent him an e-mail explaining that Carmela had discovered that the administrator whose office was the nearest wasn't the best one for the job. Well, she finally talked to him on Thursday or Friday and was told that he hadn't called because he'd had some big problems. I'd really love for this person to take over the responsibilities that I've had the last 5 years or so,but I'll understand perfectly if he says no. You don't dangle a carrot under someone's nose and then take it away. Normal trustworthy people don't anyway. I promise I won't recommend anybody for anything again!
My visitor number on Post Secret was 231,474,445 - the usual odd number. This week I got number 232,782,920. Here's a riddle for you from today's secrets. What has a cheese grater got in common with the heart? Hope you enjoy your visit. Have a good week all. Friday and Saturday are both holidays in Madrid. Friday is the day that Labour Day is celebrated in Europe and the 2nd of May is the day the people of Madrid rose up against the French. I may have to work on the 1st if the students I have on Friday aren't going away, because this holiday is very close to the Easter holiday.
Isn't it nice to sit at the office all week long and enjoy the pretty weather that is there behind the window, and then when the weekend arrives, there's a total about-face and the weather gets chaotic!
ReplyDeleteLife...I understand...lol
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your weekend hon. Monday will bring new problems to attend...sigh
Purty thang you will be alrite, just praise God
ReplyDeleteBrenda I hope ur man gets the job. This swine flu is scary and last night on the news I saw a man talking about his teenage son who had been sick and just could not seem to lick it. He is now in hospital & expected to recover. . I hope they nip this quick.
ReplyDeleteWe have rain again it is running down the street. I just shut the window and turned on the heat. Nessie came in soaked and running thru the house spreading the shower and scent. lol she is now curled up on a blanket content as can be. Have a great week and I wish u lots of sunshine for you & Zara
I had to come back & tell you it is snowing. geez!!!
ReplyDeleteI love your updates, Brenda. Thank you for posting even when there is not much going on. I hope you had a wonderful weekend, and a happy Monday to you!
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't blame him either Brenda, nor you if you never recommend anyone again. The woman has serious issues and I don't even think that slapping her up a new hairdo would help. Hmmm, I do have something a bit more severe in mind though.
ReplyDeleteSomeone let summer in this weekend and temps soared from the 40's to 90. Ouch! It cooled down again on Monday but today temps are right back up there. Seems that tomorrow we will be back to normal again.
Swine flu has me extremely concerned!
I went to Post Secret and I have a secret for you. I copied one of them for myself.
I think that she sent a good message with the cheese grater.
Enjoy your holidays and hope the weather gets better for you.
Nice to see you, Brenda. I always love reading your blogs! I really do need to start going to Post Secret myself!
ReplyDelete*hugs*
Now how did I miss this post?!! My computer time is rather sporatic these days.
ReplyDeleteOur weather has been similar. Fairly nice all week and then it rains cats and dogs on the weekends. I'm beginning to think I will never get a fence up in the backyard! LOL
I'm with Vickie, I like your updates even when there is not a lot going on.
I do hope someone takes that job, just so you don't have to feel obligated to help that woman.
Hope your week is going good? Enjoy the rest of it. ((HUGS))
