I Still Want a Hula Hoop!

A couple of summers ago, my sister Diana presented me with a manila envelope which contained photos of me, letters I'd written, articles from our local newspaper in which my name was featured, etc. This letter to Santa was among the pile. It was written on the back of a bank statement and seems to have withstood a long journey. I know my other brothers and sisters who received a manila envelope are just as grateful to our sister for sorting through so much stuff and to our dear mother for saving them. How different children's letters to Santa are today!

I've been very busy recently with baking and meals with friends and ex-colleagues to be on a lot. Tomorrow I'll be baking the bread for our Christmas Day meal (turkey at last!), making more buckeyes (peanut butter balls dipped in chocolate) and other goodies to take for dessert. According to Yahoo, gifts of food are a no-no for Christmas. Why then have people asked me for the recipes?

Here's wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas with your loved ones. BTW, I think I've learned to spell better. English grammar is easy for foreign students, but oh the spelling!

Public Photo from Facebook

A Nativity Scene was erected in a church yard. During the night, someone came across this. An abandoned dog was looking for a comfortable, protected place to sleep. He chose baby Jesus as his comfort. No one had the heart to send him away so he was there all night. We should all have the good sense of this dog and curl up in Jesus' lap from time to time. This is too sweet not to share. No one mentioned that the dog breed is a "shepherd!" By: John Gagnon's Pet Resort
