When I went out to take my dog for a walk earlier today, I saw that someone had spray painted our 'automatic porter' black - you know the thing that people ring when they want to come into a building. You couldn't see any of the numbers. The president has gone to her village for the weekend to be with one of her sisters who is ill. I went to ask the vice president if she had any paint remover because I never use oil-based paint. Neither she nor the other neighbour I talked to had any but her solution was no solution, i.e. she said to wait until Carmela comes back tomorrow afternoon. What??? Today being Sunday the normal shops which sell things like paint remover are closed. We do had a shop called Open Cor (and I didn't translate that) which is open every day of the year. However, I doubt that they sell paint supplies. Anyway, I finally decided to try nail varnish remover and baby wipes and got it all off except for a few spots. I sure wasn't going to wait until Carmela came home and risk having people ring my doorbell at all hours of the night because they couldn't see which buzzer to press. I say all hours of the night because one of the neighbours is a transvestite and works at night. I never criticize anybody's religion, politics, sexual orientation, etc. so I'm not criticizing this person. I do think though somebody who was angry with him sprayed the panel. It's not the first time something similar has happened, and I checked that the buildings nearby hadn't been vandalized.
I was going to the park later on since it's such a lovely day. We still might go but Zara has a tummy bug I think - she's had several bouts of diarrhea this morning. She won't like having to go to the vet's. She's as bad as Amy Winehouse and her rehab.I tried to get Zara to go to the vet's and she said no, no, no!
Just had to post this 'secret' from Post Secret, and yes he's writing another book in case anybody has a secret they'd like to see published. I got an even number today on the visitor counter: 220,786,524.
Hope everybody has a great week. Yippee! Next week I think I'm getting a long weekend!
I hope you dont get any unwelcome attention Brenda, but you should be safe now that you have removed most of the paint. Poor Zara, but she will be fine and if Amy went to the vet they might give her a little help. lol. Enjoy Sunday and have a nice walk.
ReplyDeleteLOL at Amy and the vet.
ReplyDeleteGeez the things people to do disrupt others and amuse themself. I love the title and hope Zara's tummy feels better. Nessie's just got a bath and I have been busy moving things around in the kitchen... just mopped the floor and she went running and came to a hault as she hit the wall.
ReplyDeleteLol @ Kevin And good to see u around my friend
ReplyDeleteThat would be funny to get on video, Deb. My beloved dog Honey used to run into trees and she would have the most surprised look on her sweet face.
ReplyDeleteIs Zara is feeling better now? Sounds as though you had a busy day. LOL I still haven't painted my front porch (just the door), I wish someone would come and put a little spray paint on it. (Smack my mouth, I know that wasn't funny. I just imagined what a ruckus would have ensued if you had waited for Carmela's return to handle the situation.)
ReplyDeleteSo, are you thinking about submitting a secret for the new book? LOL It was a total blast! You should! A couple of those this weekend were funny. And some not so. Always interesting tho.
Hope your weather has improved, like mine has. Have a beautiful week Brenda. ((HUGS))
Zara is better. Thank goodness. She's sure happy that she doesn't have to go to the vet's, though she's crazy about the young man who bathes and grooms her.
ReplyDeleteI wish I had a secret for Post Secret, but I don't unless I were to invent it. We've got lovely weather this week.
Sending doggie hugs to Zara.
ReplyDeleteSince you ladies got me addicted to Post secret, I mentioned a Sunday or two ago that it was the day for me to look at their blog to my daughter, and she said that she knew, and that she had all the books. Wow. That nearly made me fall over. I think I might be the last one on the planet to figure things out sometime! lol
Well, your daughter could have told you, couldn't she? It is addictive that's for sure. I'd love to attend one of the conferences too.
ReplyDeletehehe, she thought I knew! She was so surprised and smug that she knew something that I didn't. LOL I think their conferences would be interesting, but also, there is an element of frustration and despair in the things that people send in that might or might not translate well to "in person".
