I know just about everybody has complained about having some kind of posting problems here recently. On the 22nd I think it was, pages were loading so slowly that I gave up trying to read or comment on anybody's page. That's the day that the newest version of Firefox, which happens to be 3.0.5, decided it didn't like any of my add-ons and crashed. The only way I could open a page was using FF in safe mode, so what I did in the end was to go back and use a beta version which I haven't done since Mozilla came out. Knocking on wood, so far so good. I lost all my bookmarks (don't know if I can get them back, but that's not a big loss). I was able to re-load some of the add-ons like AdBlock Plus, McAfee Site Advisor and the StumbleUpon toolbar. However, the Multiply toolbar isn't compatible. I've sent a report to Mozilla but who knows when the incompatibilities will be fixed, so if you haven't upgraded your version yet, I'd advise you to wait or maybe you'll be lucky and won't have any problems. It's very quiet on here. Hope that means that everybody is recovering from Christmas or very busy. For Christmas lunch, which we don't usually have until about 5 PM, we had a de-boned turkey. To tell you the truth, it didn't taste that much like turkey and all the meat looked the same. Oh well, we enjoyed ourselves and the rolls I made turned out nicely. I've also posted the recipe that I used. It's one of the easiest and stickiest bread recipes I've tried.
I had to clean the windows before I decorated them and naturally we've had rain in the forecast for the last two or three days. Today we're supposed to get a snow-rain mixture. Can you believe on Christmas Day it was beautifully sunny in Madrid? Anyway, hope everybody has a good week ahead.
I've noticed a lot more problems here recently, but to be fair.................these problems have been around for a while now so maybe its not all down to firefox.................
ReplyDeleteWhats that.............SUNNY CHRISTMAS DAY???? ..........now you know how the Australians feel.
Oh, I did have problems with my Inbox... when I posted something they didn't show up in the Inbox. I could see what I'd posted but when I asked Tuula and my mother they said my postings weren't there. Fortunately this problem disappeared in a few days but I was a bit annoyed because it appeared pretty much after I'd signed up for Premium Account. With the regular account I never had any problems... it was ironic really!
ReplyDeleteGlad you were able to repair some of the damage and recapture some loss. I haven't really been here much of late and although I had difficulty with a post, I didn't experience what you did.
ReplyDeleteIt does seem to be very quiet - not many posts at all.
Today the temp here is in the high 50's. It's really amazing at the highs and extreme cold temps we have had already in December. All the snow we got has just about melted with rain yesterday and warmer temps. Now all that's left is the black ugly stuff on the side of the roads and here and there.
Oh and by the way lol, I think I know which Post Secret reminded you of me from last Sunday. Let me guess, was it near the end?!
Hope you have a great Sunday in spite of the weather and a wonderful week.
Hugsss
I'm not blaming the problems that I've had with the most recent FF on Multiply. It just happens that the two things coincided. Not too long ago, I kept getting an error message whenever I tried to post a video and I saw numerous threads about that problem on the Support groups.
ReplyDeleteYes, Donna. I think that postcard was near the end. Of course, today there were no new secrets.
Hallelujah! I've just retrieved all my old bookmarks. Where there's a will there's a way some say. Actually I looked up how to recover bookmarks on FF.
ReplyDeleteWhere there's a will there's a way. If only that worked in all areas of our lives! LOL
ReplyDeleteExcept for some slowness, I don't think I have experienced any problems. And of course I like to blame it on my ISP. lol I've gotten a few invites to Stumble and have been considering it. I don't really want another toolbar though. I think I have 3 already! I keep them hidden, so don't use them most of the time. Is the Stumble one any good? What sort of advantage does it have?
Geesh, I take a few days off (I'm still technically off, Ray's just watching a football game. lol) and there are tons of posts by friends! And you think it's quiet? lol One of my New Years resolutions is to post fewer blog entries. I do too many, don't you think? lol
Now I am off to find that recipe you posted. ((HUGS))
I'm using the old IE and I haven't had any problems with Multiply. Sometimes our wireless router gets slow but other than that, nothing to report before becoming premium or after. I have FF installed on my laptop but I've not used it. I hope all your issues resolve themselves. :)
ReplyDeleteI only use IE when I'm obliged to. Even before Mozilla came out, I used Netscape because IE was too buggy.
ReplyDeleteI don't think you post too much, Diana. I don't go on Stumble too often, but when I want to find something different, I look there. I don't blog there - only review pages sometimes.
Awww, you are so sweet Brenda. ((HUGS))
ReplyDeleteDo you have to install the toolbar in order to use Stumble? If not I may give it a try.
No, you don't have to install the toolbar to use stumbleupon.
ReplyDeleteDiana you don't post too much at all! I'd love to see more. So glad you got it all tidied up Brenda. Funny thing is last night while my brother was here, I showed him Post Secret as I went looking for new posts. Last weeks were still there but I said not a word lol. He was really amazed though, as he never heard of it.
ReplyDeleteStumble? Hmm, sounds familiar, I must've been there before.
